The conical needle is composed of three leaf-shaped sections. Its tip is a conical triangular point perpendicular to the needle’s longitudinal axis, and at any cross-section along the working part it retains a triangular profile. From the tip toward the shank, the needle gradually thickens, and the taper angle increases distinctly. The barbs along each edge are graded in size: the closer to the tip, the smaller the barb. Multiple barbs are arranged in a helical (spiral) pattern along the three edges, with their tips oriented toward the needle point. Under design criteria that preserve penetration ability, conical felting needles reduce breakage risk, lower heat generation, and minimize damage to fibers.
Conical Needles
Conical needle, also known as strengthening needle, it not only has all the characteristics of triangle needle, but also has greater bending force, greater elasticity, can withstand greater needling force, needle wear-resistant, long service life, so it can improve the penetration efficiency.

Features
- The working part cross-section is an equjiateral triange
- Markenly rising taper angle from the point to the end of the working part
- Reduced number of barbs(smaller than 9 barbs)
- Graduated barb size per edge:The closer to the point, the smaller the barb
Benefits
- Uniform bending strength coupled with maximum stability in all directions of load
- Generally lower needle breakage
- Reduced penetration foce at the start due to down-ward graduation of barb size towards the point
